Dwnload and installed os2 and my splash screen doesnt work I take it you have tp purchase the password.

Apart from that every thing esle is real cool, time will tell im sure there are a few bugs here and there

wassup guys just got the news on the os2, so i dl'd the file,loaded into mpc (already installed 5.53) when i power up i see [stop]+power ---->os2. Now im tring to find my product Id i hit mode pad 3 but i can't find it i know i've seen it b4, but i cant find it if anyone could show me the way it would be greatly appreciated so i can email and send paypal payment so i can get statrted on it.

Just a question... did JJ update the akai compressor or am I just tripping thinking it sounds alot better than the original

Last night before bed i saw it was up, copped the pass and got it when i wake up, today's gonna be a lovely day!

Is it me or does the feel of the sequencer sound smoother ?

I am not sure if I would use "smoother' to decribe what I am now hearing coming from my MPC with this new OS2. It sounds so warm to me now...like there is a Neve compressor/eq across the main buss out or something..great work JJ!

I didn't take the time to really try it yet.
It's kinda different from OS1 so it will take a little time to get used to but it seems like it's organized in a really practical and intelligent way.

A lot of those new options ( non destructive chop, ADSR, pad pattern etc...) are really a huge improvement from the orignal AKAI OS... almost like a new machine !!

I didn"t really notice a sound difference yet, but like i said i didn't really have the time to test it seriously.

Sounds the same to me, but it feels like a completely different machine. Almost like I'm starting from scratch again. The "pad pattern" looked more interesting on the video's..maybe I'm just not understanding it tho..I'm about to check out the online manual because I honestly feel like although this OS does a lot, it does a lot of things that I don't need my MPC to do. Personally, I don't like the way this OS feels, but I need to give it more time before I can really give a true opinion.
I am noticing A few bugs..
(1) 16 levels. When activated, the pads don't respond.
(2) when you try to erase samples (hold the erase button and the pad while the sequence is playing) it's not accurate at deleting specific notes and sometimes places samples at the point where you hit the pad to erase the original note. But...
If you HOLD the pad you wish to erase first and then hit the ERASE BUTTON, it seems to work just fine. Doesn't really make much sense as you have to activate record to erase a sound and then hit the pad..
Make a mock sequence and try to erase a few notes, you'll see.
Some nice features I like is the ability to fade a sample in the sample edit window, making it permanent, and the step edit window on the main screen is dope, but I don't know how to utilize it right now. I see the notes, but don't know how to do simple things like change the velocity, duration, etc. Again, I haven't looked at the manual, but simple things like this I shouldn't have to do.
There's a lot of good, and bad with this OS. I was more excited before it was released, but with future updates, my opinion will probably change.

no matter how many times i press stop and power on nothing happens!!!

I got a bug too:

When i open a saved project, it won't play correctly at first.
All i'm hearing is clicks, like it's playing only a really short fraction of each samples. Then i go to the track mute mode or any kind of menus in fact and everything is back to normal. I can go back to the main mode and everything plays correctly.

wow i'm going insane. so you guys say i need to have os1 installed with password in. so i did that today and still the same problem. it's not showing up still
