I was using Reason 4 and midi keyboard. Not so long ago i bought mpc1000.

How can i add MPC, so sounds from Reason 4 Rack which i play on midi keyboard would record on MPC sequenser?

Plz explain me how cables should i have and how they should be set up.

Thanx

PS.

I can connect my midi keyboard (midi out) to MPC (midi in), so it plays MPC pads sounds.

But i need another thing.

I need midi keyboard play REASON/CUBASE/FL sounds and it must record in MPC seruencer.

Please help me out with advise.

you gotta connect the midi output of the MPC to the midi input of your computer. do you have a midi input for your computer? if your controller was usb into the computer, you'll need a usb midi interface to connect your MPC to. you can get one of those for cheap like $40 and then sequence all your stuff on the MPC using reason as sound module. reason is a wikkid sound module too.

that midi adapter will work but you will only need the midi out of the MPC connected to the MIDI in of the computer interface. you won't need to bring audio back from the computer to the MPC unless you want to resample it, but you will need to bring audio from your computer to your mixer so you can hear it.

if i connect midi out MPC to midi In computer how sounds from Reason will be recorded in MPC sequencer?

My idea was to play by midi keyboard Reason sounds but record them in MPC, not in Reason sequencer.

Mid out of keyboard controller to Midi in 1 of MPC

Midi interface Edirol UM1 in and out to MPC in 2 and MPC Midi out 1 and the USB end of the Edirol Midi interface into computer

Sound Card or computer audio output must be plugged into the record in's of the MPC using audio cables

Do you have the JJ OS? If so the Reason 4 audio can be recorder on audio tracks.

i'm done with this thread. if you don't understand this $h1t then maybe music making isn't 4 U. no offense but take some time and read about midi and audio and come back.

Thanks for your answers anyway it cleared up something for me. And connecting cables got little to do with creating music.

flow4JC

will it work only with JJ OS, is JJ OS really worth installing?

No it does not just work with JJ OS. You could just use the regular Record mode if you wanted.

Yes the JJ OS is definatley worth installing.

Ok this is getting frustrating. Everythings hooked up correct. I hear my reason sound when on channel 1a on the mpc it records perfect. But once I got to change it to 2a and go to the interface in. And connect the device I don't get anything??, any help also I'm usiing a us144 tascam soundcar and in order to hear both devices I have to have the mix set in the middle? Any help is appreciated....

It's called the 'master keyboard'. Whatever track you have selected in the sequencer will recieve midi from channel 1.
You can select 'use no master keyboard' in the preferences to switch this off, or choose 'standard' (how you have it now) or 'separated' control (same thing but the track selection and midi input can be set independently).
To get 16 channels out of your mpc, you want to go to 'advanced control' menu and selet your midi input under 'bus a'
That should let you use the 16ch reason hardware midi interface.
