not much in that price range.
your best bet would be to go used older model or rack versions.
you want multitimberal with good sounds, here are your options:

If you are spending around 1000 and want new, then i'd seriously look at the Yamaha MO 6, it has lots of performances and sounds real nice, most of the motif es sounds but cheap or the Triton TR 61.
If you were going new, and had the quid, you said you were a guitar player, i'd look at the new roland fantom g. Its sampling and effects would be nice on guitar and let you chop up them chords.

Maybe try to pick up a virus A, B, or C I've seen some cheap ones at losangeles.craigslist.org
I figure lots of people are ditching their A, B, C's to get the TI's etc so maybe you can find a good deal there?
