In the beginning...

Hi. Just started out with a MPC 2000XL. Pardon my bad grammar and stuff 'cause I'm norwegian and we ain't that good in english

Got two questions for you and if you got the time to answer me I would appreciate it!

1. How do I make the sound from one pad stop when I hit another?

2. When I got a sample I want to put drums on how do I get the right tempo?

1 is you go to program,params and then you can choose note of

matter fact cuz, learn how to use the mute groups. go to params, go to where it say mono/poly/noteoff and then click open window...here you can set the current pad to cut off 2 other pads. This work better than note off cause you dont have to hold the pad down to play the sample.

and to find the tempo, you can use the tap tempo button, or if you have a perfect loop chopped, go to trim, hit edit, go to time stretch, then click BPM, put in the number of beats that the sample is, then hit cancel and go to your sequence and put the BPM on the number the TS gave you.
