Hey I was wondering what the MPC-500 is like as a SEQUENCER ONLY. I want to strictly use it to sequence my other samplers. I was looking at the Roland MC-500 sequencer and heard it's the bomb(even though no pattern mode) and it looks totally cool too. But...then I see the MPC-500 now and would like the added bonus of some drum pads to bang on. I really dig the MC-500 though but can't decide now! Please help!
PS - I've been using just an Ensoniq Mirage to make beats since 1990(that includes sequencing) and had a 7 year run trying to adapt to computer based beats. Hardware heads know the rest....(I can make hot beats with tin foil and chewing gum McGyver style so don't worry about all the cushy modern extras I just need this for sequencing and triggering hardware thats all; oh and how are the pads btw I've never used an MPC!)
Cheers!
