Specific Question About New Pad Feel

How do the "new" MPC 1000 pads compare to the pads on a new MPC 2500? Has anyone out there used both?

I just ask because this weekend I went to a store and laid hands on both a black (though not necessarily "new black") MPC1000 and an MPC2500. The 2500 felt SO MUCH BETTER. Very light, easy to tap. Do new or upgraded MPC1000 pads feel like that? I'd appreciate any input from people who've used both the MPC1000 and the MPC2500.

the 1000's new pads feel just like the 500's pads.
they're a bit stiff. but they will break in after a while.

Woah, that's a bummer. I actually tapped on a 500 at the store and I thought those pads felt a little worse than the 1000 I tried out! Still, it's hopeful that they might break in after a while. I can't justify spending the extra $700-$800 for a 2500 over a 1000.

Still, anything has to be better than the Zoom ST-224 I'm rocking now.

I have used a 2000 and currently work with a 1000 w/ the new pads. They feel fine. VERY much like the classic 2k. They're smaller, so there is a little less elasticity, but they are Def Quality. 1000+JJos! who the F*** needs a 2500? sorry.
