wassup men, anyways i tried to save a program to my internal HD and it wouldnt work.rebooted into OS1 5.53 works fine already reported to jj. just wondering if anyone can duplicate prob or just my machine.
i tried to save to flash card still couldn't save program, i thought for a min my f5 button mighta been broken, but in other window works fine for mute.
If no one else is experiencing this i gues i could reinstall 1.03 and see if that helps.

I'll take care of that topic for you.

Are you both sure you haven't entered a new password for OS2?
I havent seen this problem come up in any JJ OS version before.

Payed and entered password for OS2 Staurday.

I Have also noticed if i load a program saved in OS1 in OS2, hard drive freezes up. I have to reboot MPC.

for me this is serious, I have only installed the hard drive recently, 30 mins ago to store every thing and create my programs.

Okay, now we know the saving issue is definitely a bug.
As far as the hard drive is concerned, have you formatted it in the MPC after installing the JJ OS?
If not, back up your data and format the drive. Let me know what happens.

Formatted the drive twice in JJos and can repeat the issue every time.

something's strange about that.
make sure the hard drive adaptor (hdm10) is seated properly inside the mpc.
i doubt that having a drive that's not recommened would be a problem.

i've used and old 6gb travelstar in my 1k when the hdm10 first hit the market. never had a problem. a few months later, i upgraded to a seagate momentus 80gb drive (which was also not on the recommended list), and i still havent had any problems.

akai don't really test many hard drives. but from what i know, any laptop drive should work.

if you pulled your hard drive from a laptop, make sure that the jumpers are removed.

just noticed this after i made my post. so it's definitely looking like a bug.

however... @ maxim1 - take my advice and check your hard drive connections, since your machine is freezing up and pest1320's isn't. i know it won't eliminate the bug, but at least you'll know if your hard drive is working properly when you test it using JJ OS1.
let me know what happens.

I tried loading several songs created in OS1 in OS2. No issues.

Drooped a new hard drive in today and still experiencing the same problem.

Load a kit from hard drive, then try to load a kit from CF card the MPC will freeze when trying to change the source from hard drive to cf.

I can repeat this every time with out fail OS1 and 2

The start up problems seem to have disappeared so the new hard drive is an improvement.

Ok after intensive testing I Have come to the conclusion the problem is with the MPC. I have tried all OS and the same problem exists.

when ever i load a program from the hard drive no matter what route or sequence i take to load another program from the cf card the MPC will lock up.

I have 2 choices send it back (out of warranty) or just use the cf card or Hard drive. any suggestions ?

If I just read that correctly, you mentioned the MPC freezing up with the CF card as well?
If that's the case, then also check the connection between the CF reader and the main board to see if the ribbon cable is loose.
Check all of your ribbon cables while you're in there as well.
From what I know, this could be where the problem lies. Can't hurt to check. hopefully it'll save you from having to send it out for a repair.
