What's going ya'll? This all started last night, I tried to save my beat. When I saved my sequences it asked me if I wanted to "replace". This is only odd because i just made the beat and did not previously save any data. I saved the sequences, but when it came to saving the program it asked to be replace when the program too was never never saved previously or the wav files in the in that program for that matter. It also took longer than usual to save and I noticed that it only saved half the wav files so I saved again optioning to replace all samples with no success. I even tried, changing the name of the program than resaving... no success. Manually saving the wav files one by one...no success. All together i had all 64 pads filled each with a different sound, but it only saved 26 pads/wav files. My MPC has been on all night from me fearing that if I turn it off, I'll have to salvage the entire beat... someone has to have a solution for me! I switched over to jjos to avoid stuff like this!

That replace option is always there even when everything is totally new. think of it like this... if the mpc finds something with the same name inside the folder on you CF card or hard disk, it will save the new sound or new program over the old one if you decide "replace:YES"
it wont make a difference if here is nothing called that in your chosen save location.

samples will only be saved if they are assigned to a pad in a program
UNLESS you select "Save All Programs and Samples".

check that your other samples havent been saved somewhere else on your CF card or disk, they might be not be in any particular folder for instance.

also have you formatted your card from inside the JJ OS load/save window?

I don't have any folders accept for the "auto load" so everything that i save just goes to one directory

I formatted the card from the jjos load/save about 5 months ago...

I worded it wrong.... after I converted to the jjos, i only save stuff like drums and basslines into the "autoload" folder. everything else doesn't go to that folder. Thats how I know it isn't in any other folder.... and i've been saving like this for months so I know this isn't the problem.

I think you will have to lose this battle and start over making sure you only save to the CF card.

The auto load folder will take a lot of punishment but should not be relied on for whole file saves.

Good luck.

It almost had to come to that! lol. I just gave up and manually deleted the 26 wav files that saved as well as the program itself and then i just saved it again and voila! success. I guess it was just a glithc...

dude, you can't just save everything into the same folder. you have to create a new folder for each beat of yours. you do realize that if you're not changing the names of the programs & samples, they're going to get the same default names that the MPC gives them... right? if you keep trying to save everything into the same folder it is only logical that some files will have the same name.

to save properly... you need to: create a new folder to save your beat to... and make sure you're saving the entire memory to that folder.
