The records I choose just aren't cutting it!

I mean I chopp up samples all day but they don't have the sound I'm looking for.... I spend too much money on records to not be getting good ones any suggestions.... I LOve the samples just blaze pics... Also I got a nice producer around my way in atlanta he's hard to get to

1965-1974 for the prime ish..
soul funk rock disco jazz and kids records and everything else.
go get some dusty fingers lps and start there. there are straight up fuc!,ing wack records that have heat for samples. dont ask noob questions (not that im hatin) just GO OUT AND DO IT!!

Exactly. You gotta have your own tastes in music and your own style.

look on the back of the record and try to find out who produced the record.

Just saying that it takes some time to know what could have dope sounds/samples on it and also how to use those records...

Get yourself a portable turntable if you're doing it the old fashioned way.

Read liner notes, take note of instruments, producers, players etc.

If you're going the mp3 route, there's plenty of stuff out there on the net research wise.

If it didn't catch your attention while listening to the record don't bother trying to use it. Another thing is that you don't need to chop everything you sample. People go too far with that some times.It can be extremely usefull in certain cases but sometimes a straight loop is good to use with other chops or parts...

You have to sample from 1971 only polydor records. No other labels have any other samples, believe me ive listened to every other label and they all suck.

It doesn't really matter what kinda genre or artist you sample from. As long as it matches ur goal and the vibe ur looking for. When u be like 'Daaaaaaaammmmnn, this is hot', most of the time U'll be able the make a good beat out of that. Then master the art of manipulating it.

The kind of samples just blaze use vary from soul to rock. Don't stick to a genre or stream, but look for atmosphere and vibes. I even look for classic, world music and forgotten poppy rock&roll music. A long the way u train ur ears to be more creative.
