I've been crying for Open Source status since it became apparent that Numark didn't give crap about fixing bugs years back.
The other end of this is that the behemoth 4000 is dead in Numark's eyes and they intend to keep it that way. An updated OS means that the flagship focus would shift backwards towards the 4000 from the official flagship 2500.
Unless someone decompiles the code without permission the idea is stillborn. Numark is not going to release the source code and breathe new life into a machine they don't build, never built and has no plans to replicate in terms of power and stature.
