Logic 8 and the Mpc 1000

I'd thought i would post this to see if there is anyone out there who has a similar setup to mine?

I've been using Logic for a while and I've just recently got the mpc 1k. What i would like to achieve is to use the mpc as the master (where i program my drums and samples etc). Then i would like to use logic's plug ins (synths etc).

I've managed to sync the two, to the point where i record midi information on the mpc to sequence with the soft synth playing the sound through logic....(a sound module)

The main problem is when i attempt to track it all back into logic and i click record it starts then skips after about 1bar. It frustrating and doesn't seem smooth enough for me. Can anyone help?

(Just had a thought on what i could do while concluding my speech...maybe switch the mpc to being a slave. I thought i'd still post it cause i spent 5min typing. lol)

There really is no way around your issue, because Logic 8 only syncs to MTC. Logic 7 could sync to MIDI clock, whiwh provided better syncing, but still not perfect at the beginning of the first bar. The only thing I can suggest is to record your sequence twice thru, and clip the first go-round. In other words, if your sequence is 8 bars long, record it for 16 bars, then delete the first eight.

You could also sync the MPC to Logic, but in my experience, the MPC loses its tightness when its used as the slave.
