I was down for that daytime action, but you killed it for me when you said you're not gonna put any of your best beats fwd. To put out a mix tape with half ass beats promoting the mpc 500 would technically be doing it a disservice. You said if we don't get enough interest you're not gonna worry about it. Well i digress. I doubt that if we all throw up half ass beats we'd accomplish just that.. getting NO interest. I don't know about you, but it's not like I have 50 cent and Jay Z lined up to buy tracks from me and I gotta save the best for them. This could be the one hitter quitter. This could either make you or break you and If i was an artist and this beat cd got passed to me and I heard some of (not just reffering to you) the half ass beats... I'd never want to listen to that specific producer again. I'm down for it, but I think I'd rather go all out than to put in a "crappy i don't care about it" beat on it. Not to mention if you're talking about sampling then shit go all out, it's not like you really created the beat after all. Adding kikz, drumz, hats, to a chopped up sample or to a loop ain't really a respected production in my eyes. It's more like a REPRODUCTION. I don't knock those who do it, but how you gonna take credit for adding on to someone else's creation????i I'd rather go all out and if i give my best and if it ain't good enough then oh well.. i gave it my best. If it is good enough then I might just have 50 and Jay Z lined up ready to cop something. Let me know when enough heads are interested.. shit.. I think 10 heads are good enough.. 1 beat for 2:15 seconds a piece..shit... i'll even throw my voice in for a chorus!
I'm not coming at you homie, don't get offended, but im an O.G. and I know what it means to sit on your hot shit and wait for the right people to hear it. Or worrying about someone stealing it.
It means you might as well continue your 9-5. cause nobody never gonna hear what you're hiding. you throw out shiznit u get back shiznit.

I think if we made a solid effort and a good beattape we might be able to earn the 500 a little more respect. Obviously beats made only on the 500, we should allow other equipment, just no other samplers or sequencers aside from the 500. If someone could do some transitions or something using software, to make it one long flowing track, or if any djs want to do something along those lines or interludes and scratching, that would be great.
Personally I'm not going to add any of my best beats to this mix, just quick ones that would be alright to rap to. I think if I were to set out to make beats specifically for this, say spend no more than a day on them, and try to do about 5 that it would help my beat-making ability. I also have freestyle/write sessions with my friends every once in a while, and another beattape to rap over would be nice.
If we don't get enough interest then I'm not going to worry about it; and I don't necessarily want to organize it because I don't want to have to worry about which ones to put on/not put on and such, but if noone else wants to do it, I'll assume that responsibility.
So, if you're interested let me know what's up in this thread. I'm not going to worry about dates and things until it looks like we have enough interested people.
