Sample kits for mpc4k in 24/96 format,, where are they???

There are shitloads of samples and kits for the mpc1000 and mpc2000,, but there is nothing for the mpc4k,, because all the other samples are 16bit 44.1,,,

Besides that, there arent any sample cd's for the mpc4k with 24bit format. All other sample cd's for GIGA EXS HAlion etc, wich are 24 bits,,, will lose there bitrate after converten in chicken sys and cd xtract.

When will there be good sample kits for the mpc4k with the 24bit quality we have paid for??????

That is very whack,,,, that mpc-tutor site got all specific sample kits for the mpc1000 and the mpc2000, but nothing for the 4000, i feel passed over,,,,
I bought the mpc4k over the mv8k because of the 24bit processing,, but as it turns out, i hardly ever use it because there are no 24 bits sample kits available.

Maybe ill switch the machine to 16 bit,, whats the point

recording your stuff at 24bit makes a difference!

Nevertheless I want them kits to! Its a shame..

16/44 is more of a common format. How's that?

If you want specific then make your own. Stop being lazy and do for yourself.

Take those samples and convert them or re-record them into whatever you want. It's not hard.

run the samples through sound forge and batch process the whole cd at on time pull them into akasys and load them bam 24bit sample....

get out more, start sampling, honestly!! gives so much more organtic vibe to the music,..then you'll finally apreciate the 24/96,.. be glad you have the option

Ok ok.. All good! But I have this MPC4k to replace my desktop computer. It would be great if I had a full sound pallette at my hands. Off course we make our own samples and go out and buy lots and lots of vynil to. But I have two 40GB HD's in there plus the ability to connect external USB drives, SCSI HD and I can transfer to PC's HD. So,.... too much free space just laying around, doing nothing!

In a few months (hopefully) we can audition from HD. Would nt it be nice then to have a bunch of samples ready to audition and get rid of the PC/MAC forever!

i agree with most of you! sample your own shit and you have your own 24/96 samples! ... even though it wouldn't hurt akai to offer some downloads at their homepage for the 4k aswell! i mean if you buy a 1000$ gear from akai they offer you customized samples/programs, if you get the one for 3000$ you can transform them on your own ... still imo its better if they focus on the development of the os then spending xtime to offer free samples!

and i got a question to the transforming/soundforge thing!

what sense does it make? i mean: if my source sample is 16/44 and i transform it to 24/96 what changes? imo only the size of it! does it have any affect to the sound "quality"?

YOU ARE ABLE TO RETAIN MOST OF THE QUALITY OF THE SAMPLE. EVERYTIME ANYTHING BE IT PICTURE, SOUND, DNA WILL LOOSE ELEMENTS THE ORIGINAL BE IT PARTS PER MILLION OR PARTS PER BILLION.

OK 1 i was talking to the guy that wanted 24/96 samples, just giving him a tool to convert his samples... me myself i set my 4k 24/44.1 just cause i can i would advise everyone to stay 16/44.1 cause u dither down to it for cd anyway

I shouldnt have to explane to any of you guys about if i sample from vinyl or not.... The fact is,,, the mpc4k is a 24bit machine, and there aint enough stuff out there to use the mpc's sonic capabilities.

Sampling from vinyl on 24bit wouldnt add much to the sonic quality of the sample because of some theoretical headroom ditter bullshit i will not get into now.

Platinum Dums, Scarbee Rhodes,,, Garritan,,etc etc all these are sample instruments
with 24 bit quality samples,, but they cant be used at 24 bit because those cd's are not made for mpc4k format.
