loading new program kills mixer, effects, track assngmnts?

Why is it that when I load a new program, all track assignments, the entire mixer, and all effects are reset to default?

Because those elements are tied to each program (or multi, depending on the feature). This makes sense since each program has different samples which all need their own levels, fx settings, etc. If you want the same settings on another program, you would need to make the changes again there and save.

This is happening when I switch to a new track, assign a new "part" number, then load a new program. Just loading another program like this trashes basically everything except the sequence.

I am not trying to "replace" a program or multi on an existing track....just trying to load up another program for use on a new track.

Does this make sense? I'm a bit perplexed here. It just doesn't seem right that loading up another program would do this.

Sorry, doesn't really make sense. Which mixer are you referring to, the pad or part mixer? The pad mixer should be different for each program and the part mixer applies to the multi. Each part has its own program, so anytime you load or change the program for that part, that programs settings should be applied.

Part controls output, mixer settings, and which program will play.

Programs are essentially your sound shaping parameters and midi keys assign to a sample.

The 4k is different from a 2xl as you have to assign the part to a track which in turn connects a program.

You should be able to keep the same part settings in the multi page as to which levels, output and fxs you want to output. Assign a program change number to each program and switch them out at will.

Might seem obvious but make sure you are using different parts per track and when you assign the program highlight the area after part hit the window number assign the program and press do it.
