comming from fl studio need sampling help

ok so i finally got the money together to get an mpc. so i have a few questions. be as easy as possible lol i have searched the forums as much as possible and didnt find my question answered.

ok so i am wondering can i use my m-audio mobile pre usb preamp to link into my mpc and turntable to sample? or do i have to get a turntable mixer or a regular audio mixer. please help i need to figure out wether or not i have to buy something or if i can use my preamp. thanks

does your m audio mobile pre have a phono in and a ground?
it would need that to take a deck -

otherwise youll need a dj mixer, (or if you have a hi fi amp with ground and phono in you can send the deck to that (deck>amp>mpc).)

basically you need a phono in and ground - some dj mixers generate background noise that'll make your samples imperfect - so ask around before buying - i cant recommend mine - its a pioneer djm 500 and you can hear dirt when you turn the volume right up.

you dont need a dj mixer. you need a phono preamp.

preamp to mobilepre/mpc, depending on what you are using to sample. i run my preamp directly to the mpc and have the input thru on so if i want to sample on the computer, which i dont, the audio is already passing through, no problems.

i paid $50 for a phono preamp at guitar center.

you best bet is to get a mixer just in case you want to buy other hardware down the road.

best bet is a dj mixer for sure. Yes phono pre amp will work but get a cheap little dj mixer. Trust me.

no, he/she should get a 12 input mixer and not a dj mixer.

thanks guys i got a phono preamp. now when i sample it records this buzzing noise. and it doesnt record the music. what do i do now?

Amoung many options listed here, the one thing i dont have is a stand alone phono pre amp, so cant help ya much there. Im sure some one around here is familiar. Good luck.

i think a 12 input mixer is a better bet because of future growth. it may cost more but if one decides to purchase more hardware all he/she needs are cables.

my experiences is that the "cheap comes out expensive". you may be saving money today but you will be spending more in the long run.

yes, there are allot of options but in the long run a 12 input mixer would be the cheapest way to go.

make sure that you ground your turntable. There should be a ground wire coming out of your turntable. you need to connect it to the ground on the preamp. on mine, you just had to unscrew this little party then put the wire on and screw it back so it held the wire in place.
