okay, installed OS 2 and i will do the honourable thing of giving it a try....

but, even you nym, ya gotta agree that since OS 1 has never been announced "bug free" this question was bound to arise at some point, there is no harm in merely addressing the issue among OS1 users just to hear other views and opinions, it is fair play bruv. and in retort to your comments about bug fixes, i too HAVE reported bugs to JJ, i will in no way accept you saying that i have no legitimacy of argument for that reason..

nym's enterpretation of this debate is - "why the fuk you wanna hate on jj? he's doing his thing, why don't you fukin get OS 2?"

my enterpretation - "okay, props for the whole OS2 movement, whats the situation with OS 1? are we still going places or has it been bottomshelved?"

nym i respect your opinions bruv, i'm grateful for the work you put in on the whole JJ thing, your contribution has undoubtidly surpassed anybody elses, but you gotta know, different OS for different people, all i wanted to know was where the project was at.

yeah man having gotten excited earlier in the day i feel i came off a little harsh and for that i'm sorry, you're both resourceful dudes, resources to the community. narqotic i'm relieved that you've done your civic duty, so to say, i intentionally kept my comments somewhat vague but not enough to describe as "tactful"

but, on the upside, i do think that only good things for all involved will come out of this - as some users have found (2, i think) bugs that exist in the code of both os1 and os2.

yall know how borderline unhealthy this is for me. it's ok though. my only concern is that what may appear like naysaying regarding a project to which i'm giving my all. it's possible that i have grown "too close" to this project for my own sanity. i simply want this thing to keep up its momentum til it reaches as far as it can before kicking it.

The blasting back and forth that got started in this thread reminds me of the waste of space flaming/bickering in usenet newsgroups... I hope that all the (truely) constructive/worthwhile discussions in this forum aren't gonna be replaced by "OS1 vs. OS2"/"This OS deserves more support than the other"/blah blah blah!!!

The OS1 project-loading bugs mentioned, amongst, probably a bunch of others, should be submitted via JJ's site for future corrections. I dunno if demanding a "FINAL", end-of-story, "that's-all-folks" -OS1- ASAP is the answer. Then what? Bugs still? New bugs? Well if that rushed "FINAL" OS1 is served up in a hot minute that's it. At least as of now it's still open ended and the little bit of space to code/recode can be used to the best possible end.

As far as whether you prefer OS1 or OS2, who cares? I have both but just because I like working one way better at a certain time doesn't mean crap to you/whoever... That's what the damn demos are for, right? Buy whatever OS(s) YOU think is worth paying your OWN hard earned pennies for. End of story. To each their own, and why not leave it there...

...In terms of OS1's progression thus far it's been an f-in GIFT for the damn 30 bux! I could only WISH that , let's say, Eventide pumped out NEARLY the amount of SW updates/bug fixes/improvements for a piece of HW and SW I paid *100x*(?) more for?!!!

the Akai OS has more bugs than OS 1 does, so I don't even understand what the problem is.
