When I bought this beast it used to be f*cked up for about 20 minutes until it warmed up... but now it just stays f'd up, in fact it gets worse the longer it's on.
Big up everyone that replied, I had to live off ramen noodles for 2 weeks to pick this thing up and I'm hardly using it cuz I have an unbound manual with no table of contents or index, and I can't even read the display!
I feel your pain man. I'll tell you something funny about the ASR-10...Ensoniq re-released the machine with "updates" maybe twice, I might be wrong. The most noticeable difference is in the screen. The very first ASR-10s had a very standard monochrome-like screen, then all of a sudden it got jazzed up with a nice LCD one. A lot of my boys got pissed, cuz they got the machines when they first came out and had a lot of sequence crashing problems...some traded theirs in for the updated model, others moved onto MPCs, lol, SPs, W-30s, etc. Another funny thing was that my EPS-16+, the model BEFORE the ASR, has never crashed. Now, yeah, it's not a studio-friendly machine in its finickiness with MIDI, but you do what you can. Best of luck to you, the ASR-10 is still a great machine...maybe you could just get a rackmount version, I've never heard of problems with those.
