You mean the stock sounds it comes with? They are only good for starting off. Otherwise I wouldn't use it. I rather build my own drum library and have my own sounds. The stock sounds are distinctive.

Co-sign. Build your own drum library. Use the MPC to alter, "tweak",
to make to your own.

Definitely. Get the hard drive. Less cost in the long run. But keep them stock sounds though. You never know when one might be exactly what you're looking for. Plus you can use 'em to practice and maybe sell a few beats you make with 'em.
