Hey all, New member and all.
Just got a few questions regarding the MPC1000 as im buying one in 8 days.

First up, I've heard that MPC1000's now have the HDM10 kit pre installed therefore I could plonk a HD straight in there?
Also Im from the UK, and was just wondering if someone could point me towards a website or something that has a hard drive suitable for MPC1000. Any size around 40/60gb would be fine.

Also, I plan to get a microkorg next month, Could I record it straight in to the MPC's sequencer via Midi? or would I have to sequence through something like Cubase/Logic?
I dont have a clue how I would sequence them together or anything.

This forum has lots of great info and Ive done a slight bit of reading up already but just want to make sure I make right decisions as I can be quite clumsy as I rush in to things.

:)

No need to worry about the MPC - Microkorg thing. I found the answer thanks to a video from Lition who I believe posts here.

Thanks dude.

i'm from the uk myself...
the mpc1000 does not come with a hdm10, you have to buy it separately, i got mine from dolphinmusic.co.uk.

as for a hard drive, i would check e-bay. i got the 80gb hitachi travelstar that was specified on the akai website for like 30 quid.

also, do you know if the 1k you are buyin has the new pads? they can be hard to get in the uk.

I will go check ebay now and the 1k Im getting is this one @ http://www.dv247.com/invt/31962/
I've always found DV247 reliable and quick, thats why Im ordering from them but Im not sure if it has the new pads?

If you just started making beats. You don't need that much memory and a MicroKorg, just get a midi controller. Think about your monitors (speakers).

i had this argument a while ago, in evey issue of SOS of late the MPC1K says it includes the mounting kit. and a few other gear mini mags have had the same infomation.

Also www.dabs.com is nice for HDD
