Hey I have an issue (of course lol). I am MIDIing a MPC back and forth b/w a Motif ES7 and an Ensoniq ASR-10. What I am trying to do is make the MPC the master and the other 2 the slave. Is there a way to play on the Motif or Ensoniq and it record onto the sequencer on the MPC because I have tried thinkin it would work (mainly because ive seen it on youtube videos) but for some reason it did not work for me. Does anybody know (or think they know) what the issue is? It would be a great help, thanks!

yup, you can.

I would put them on separate midi channels (A and B, one for each), although you could use just one with the through of the asr.

you wanna set the asr up to be on multi, transmit on (inst channel), recieve on (inst channel) and I like to do 1-8 on the asr being 1-8 on the mpc midi channels.

the motif you could run on channels 9-16 through the thru... send the out of the asr back to the mpc and control your pads there.

Either:

mpc out A -> ASR in ASR out -> MPC in 1 AND MPC out B-> motif IN -> m. out -> MPC IN 2

OR

MPC out A-> ASR in ASR out -> MPC in 1 .... ASR Through -> Motif IN

both work
