I have not noticed any of the regulars on the Unofficial JJOS board posting links to their music in the "YOUR MUSIC" board. Why not?

Too busy doing bug testing, coming up with feature requests, and discussing all the reasons why Akai is hated

20 beats near completion for the next album
only a couple are done
i don't post much music up because i started to feel like every song i finished, i put up
i didn't want my next album to feel like a "Best of" compilation
believe me though, every every time i make something i'm excited about it's a conscious effort not to put it up. that's why i love the receptionist at work, she always comes to listen to the new tunes.

Nym, is that REALLY why you love the receptionist at work?? This wouldn't happen to be the reason you gave your ex a 2 week notice a while back, would it??? :D

HOW DO YOU QUOTE with the new forum layout? Is it the quote button that appears under the subject when you reply to a thread?

Edit: well, damn. I see the quote button AFTER I ask the stupid question.....

I haven't posted in the "your music section" yet, but heres a link to my myspace page. The stuff on there is on an instrumental tip, all made out of samples from records(with the exception of "mixer feedback" basslines). A couple of the tracks are meant to sound as live as possible ,"Emu Brown" and "The Word For This is Cool", on a funk and jazz tip respectively. My more straight up hip hop stuff is under wraps till i get some vocals recorded.I love producing but im pretty bad at the whole self promotion schtick, ive been making beats for years and only set up a myspace last month! Give us a shout if your stuffs on there too people.

>> I just stopped posting there, cause it actually doesn't make sense to me any more. There's too much going on in the Music Thread. Stuff is getting overlooked easy, if you don't WRITE IN EXTRA BIG LETTERS OR USE THE WORDS 'BANGER' 'KILLER' or 'HIT' or whatever in the Post Title. Also it's always the same guys, who established themselves getting the props, new cats pretty much get overlooked as well. Finally, I think I cannot learn any more from posting Links to my music there. I'm pretty advanced so I just do this for me. I don't need to earn stripes by trying to sound like the next man and earn props for that :) So I asked myself, do I need this? Nope...

PEACE

i can feel that. i HATE that part, more than you can know.

i'd rather just hope i get discovered but i know that's not good enough
it's a shame because often you'll see very dedicated people fall by the wayside just cuz the next dude's got louder people.

i'm still very much figuring out that whole system

when the next album gets released i guess i'll buy an MPC-FORUMS ad and release the whole cd for free on Youtube, and charge $5.00 for a variable bitrate MP3 version of the album, $10.00 for a cd.

i'm not in the right area to do a lot of selling by hand, or by personable hype.
i could start doing live shows, easily, but it's hard to get folks excited unless you are visually dramatic and exciting to watch.

i imagine the more wild i get with my inventions, and the more i learn ableton live, the cooler i'll be as a live act.

that sounded terrific, nice handle of things at that tempo.
i'd like to listen multiple times and try to picture how you were doing what

i may be newly registered, but i am no stranger to your posts. you guyz are like family to me! i dropped a CD "The FunkBox" in 06 (http://www.getfamos.com) in which i incorporated my mpc1000, but now since jj OS 1&2 i've made my MP the star of my production tools! i backpack it to Starbucks, Border's, work... wherever & do my thang :P , bring it to the studio & control my synths - lace trax & make things happen!! rite now to get practice with jjos2 i've been making club remixes: loading accapellas into my MP, choppin&timestrecting to the remix speed (120+) & crafting my own original beats with the singing track- it's fun! (thanks nym for the youtube "divide & conquer" choppin technique)
i'm gonna post my 1st club mix "NO ONE" by alicia keys within the next week. where do i post? within jj post or the general forum (i really want u guyz to hear this!)

ALSO BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR "LOVE SPACE" on http://www.getfamos.com though i want to post my progress here: get love, criticsm & maybe some collaboration from the forum!

Commander Robot that dtmg instrumental is real nice. Great tune, well done. What the hell is that screaming lead synth that comes in at about 2mins?

Posted this a while back got some good feedback.
