Im about to throw my MPC out the window if this doesnt work!

As many of you know by now Ive been having a horrid midi issue with my MPC going on for about 2months now. I have tried every thing in my power and I have accepted the fact that its just brain dead and I must get a new one. The only way now to prove myself wrong is to try and download an older version of JJ which was pre midi bug like 4.97 to see if my bitching to jj has been in vein. Ive been patiently waiting on that 5.00 to drop or hell, even a 4.99H,I,J,K etc. to see if that will fix it but I have no more hair to pull out. Im currently on that 4.99G and the issue has been present since 4.98! I went to ya boy stan steez's link up top and tried to download a later version of the os but the file that downloads isnt being recognized by my unit when I put in my flashcard. Maybe Im missing something who knows? Well If you guys know how to do so It would mean alot as always. Im trying to buy a glock33 on thursday and its either or. I would much rather make music than war but the locals here are making it hard to do that! Please help me before I do something really bad to somebody folks. 1waymuzik!

1way, you need to relax. Get you a nice bottle of rum and chill. Violence is not the answer, but if you are getting a Glock, get the Glock 22 (40 cal.). And if you are gonna throw your MPC out the window, wait til I'm around so I can catch it and give it to my son.

I've switched cables, bnought new ones, system resets on both the keyboard and the MPC. Downgraded and upgraded the jj os. Messed with the settings till I couldn't stand anymore. I just need to try something before 4.97 to be sure!

I've been stressin without my music and these bumpkins out here are pushin their Muthaf%ckin luck fam! Plus the Glock33 is a .357 lol! Believe me I know better but Im solo out here and I would much rather be in the lab but I gotta watch my ass right now. Gotta be alive to make music. If I could get my MPC to work correctly I could occupy myself but in this past 2months since I've been down I've been wildin out in the club, at work, and just in general. I sincerely just wanna make music

did you try going back to the akai OS? and see if you midi problems is still an issue?

You know what I honestly don't think I have done that one yet. I will try today although that still won't fix anything unless JJ releases an upgrade that has addressed the midi issue. I NEED TO MAKE MUSIC NOW! Im having withdrawls like a crackhead right now. None the less I'll see what's up. At least it will tell me if my MPC is bad right? But hey how do you upload the old versions of JJ from the stan steez link or if you guys could post some up that would be dope!

not sure how to upload the older versions nor do i know anyone who is hosting the older versions even with out a password i dont kno if you would be able to.

There's a link in the jj resources section that stan steez posted but its all in some weird format that my mpc doesn't recognize. Anyway Im going to try to download akais os now and check it out.

I just went back to akai's os v210 and the same bullsh*t! Although I notice that if I play a key then press play I can hear a faint crackling noise in the background. Well I guess its time to say my last goodbyes then off to the pawn shop for little to nothing. Its been a fun ride.......I wonder if the jj os has had anything to do with my mpc's midi clock burning out?

I've tried everything! I just upgraded to the os2 and the same bug exists there as well! I would be hot if this was fixed with 5.00 but what's the likely-hood of that happening with everything I've tried?

Well you have to have a keyboard connected to the mpc with both midi cables.
The MPC has to be the master and set to midi clock with the midi channels set appropriately. Next the keyboard has to be set to receive midi clock messages and the local switch ON! When you record on 01.01.01 the note plays back but the duration is cut-off and doesn't play back on time. I've noticed that sounds that are tempo dependent and long notes are affected the best. MTC functions properly its just the midi clock.

the duration is cut off by what? the next note?

the duration is set 0 automatically?

or the worst perhaps!

do you mean sounds that have an LFO sync to the tempo (just for example)?

is it possible your keyboard is sending some kind of garbled note off message?

well that's good... MTC is more reliable anyway... i've found. but depending on your work flow,
clock may be what you need -- i'm guessing this is the case, otherwise you'd still have all your hair,
and that ulcer wouldn't be operable.... yet.

do you mean it's set to external sync? or does your keyboard actually have different settings for
MTC, MMC, and Clock? my synth only receives or sends sync messages... must be some kind of
workstation?


i'm no expert but it sounds like there's something happening at the keyboard end of things dude...
