The data wheel on my MPC1000 doesn't function right anymore

it doesn't direct where I wanna go no matter how hard I turn that thing..

Does anyone know how to fix it?

PS. I bought a replacement wheel on MPCstuff.com

but it seems it is not easy to replace and needs lots work..

Please help me out.thanks!

You need a new rotary encoder, not a data wheel. To replace it requires soldering/desoldering. If you have no experience soldering, then have someone else replace the rotary encoder for you.
Search the forum for more information. This is a common problem.

yea def search lots of people on here have had that problem

i did replace one on my 2kxl when i had it, it wasnt that hard and i have little to zip exp on a solder gun. so my suggestion is search and then take the cover off of your mpc and take a look.
