I'm amped that OS2 came out finally. I'm a little iffy whether or not I want to dive in while there will undoubtedly be bugs to be fixed. Maybe I'm wrong though. For those who are running OS2, have you seen bugs that totally throw you for a loop and make writing music almost too annoying?

You know what, I just saw a post from roxstar stating that he reverted to OS1 because of bugs. I guess my question is answered but if others think differently, let me know.

Thanks,
crappy

I encountered a few bugs myself, some more annoying than others ( i got one while trying to save, it didn't happen again yet though...)

The good side of things is that the JJos team is really quick at fixing them. I reported a loading sequence bug and he fixed it in an update in less than 24 hours. We already had 2 updates in 2 days. So the best thing to do is test the new OS as much as possible and report the bugs to the JJos team...

This being said, i guess if you need to do work on serious projects and you need stability, it may be better to stick to JJos 1 for the moment. But still that JJos 2 looks very promising in my opinion...

I dont know if its a bug that any one else has..But when changing values(trim mode, Program..) it seems that the values seem to jump around, and not dead on when trying to adjust them..

Also, seems that when you change, for example, a sample for a pad in program mode, it continues with no end like in the old OS.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to wait a bit just like I did with OS1.

All I see is posts about bugs! I'm getting antsy though. I may have to be a guinea pig too in the near future.

There is a bug in the sample trim/edit mode in OS2/1.04

When hitting pad and adjusting sample start/end, the MPC will play the wrong part of a sample. This is very annoying.

After setting up the q-link sliders to control tempo change, the following bugs occurs:

- Can't manually set tempo correctly via number buttons.
- "Tempo change"-event does not have any effect.
- When manually playing a sequence and setting another sequence to play afterwards, the tempo of the next sequence is screwed up.

I'm using OS2 v.1.04.

:?
This was true of the last OS so I wouldn't be alarmed. So if you are going to upgrade, do it before JJ decides to increase the price like they did with OS2 for the 1000. The initial price of OS2 for the 2500 was higher because they claimed there were not as many MPC 2500 users supporting the OS.

I am not touching it yet until it's a bit more stable. In my case I control a lot of external synthesizers with the MPC 2500 and for some reason the MPC keeps changing the programs on my synth to the first program on my virus: A0.... it's annoying as hell.

Sounds like your MPC is sending program/bank changes to your synth...you can turn this off.

has anybody encounterd a problem in the step edit page?

when i'm trying to input midi notes as a 'step sequence' with auto step increment switched to 'yes' not only is the sequencer sticking on various notes but at times it's going in reverse!
