MPC 1000 Midi Note ON/OFF

Hello,

I'm considering bidding for a MPC1000 on Ebay.
I would like to playback my Ableton LIVE samples on the MPC and also hook up my Midi keyboard to the MPC, in order to play sampled synth sounds from my Korg MS20 that I created and loaded into the MPC. My question is if the MPC recognizes the Note Off messages from the keyboard. With other words - if I play a note from the Keyboard will it play back the sample only as long as I hold the note?

I hope you get what I mean and that you can help me with this question.

mate -- each pad on the 1000 can be set to 'one shot' or 'note on'

one shot - hit it once it plays through til the end of the sample.

note on - if you assign loop points to sample, assign it to a pad and set that pad to note on - the pad will play
for as long as you trigger it (hold it down).

i'm not sure whether the 1000 can receive note off messages from an external source... i've never actually tried it.
i prefer to play sampled parts with the pads rather than with keys.

i can't see why it wouldn't work though - the MIDI messages are the same.

Its the same for keys as for the pads. Yes, the mpc understands note off messages.
