i use an mpc live with jj3.08 triggering samples and mechanical stuff using a midi to relay converter system. Have built a vehicle that plays milk bottles- there's video of the two prototypes and the final version at http://www.backtothetrees.org/tonefloat. Have just developed a system that blows air across the tops of the bottles, again sequenced and improvised from my trusty blue unit.

thanks everybody for the positive feedback!
the screaming lead is my hardware access virus classic with a simple tr808 preset. took me quite some time to program this pattern because i used a lot of pitchbend and 32th notes. then i looped it and recorded it for like 2 or 3 minutes, only working with the notorious cutoff for this acidish screaming sound. after that i cut out the pieces i liked and put them together.

by the way, i use cubase 4 (non-pirated) and i keep asking myself if reaper would have done it, too... hm, well, too late to find out.

sorry for doublepost, but i was too slow with my last answer.
nym, great new stuff! prelude sounds like you used patched phrase. i like how you hear the sample being forced into fitting tempo and tune. is that os2 already? i switched 3 days ago, still feels a bit strange to me. i keep deleting and switching pgms on main-screen because thats where the tracks used to be in os1.
but thats off-topic. everyone keep the good music coming. how about a jj-mixtape?

os2 only
i don't start projects in os1 anymore.

PRELUDE: i hope to make a video regarding how i did that later today.
i chopped the sample into 61 tiny pieces, set them to note on, set each sample to ALT LOOP, programmed them in (perfect quantize, they're too fast to need a groove)

then i thought man, this sounds good, but it only lasts 4 bars...i'm gonna get sick of it real quick
so then i threw qlink tune on there
and at the 4th bar i pulled it up to +120
then down to +70
then down again to +50, and then it returns to 0 for the loop at the end of the 8th bar
it's like that one "realtime timestretching" video, just w/ out wasting time with patched phrase. and, of course, it's not realtime timestretching (and neither was dude's video)

glad you like it

mmj, what an invention! i would love to see that thing live, you've fully got me inspired with that one!
oh and nice work on dtmg commander robot, great contrast with the guitar and the electronic styles.
