The sound just cut itself out.
Its showing that the correct information is being recorded correctly in the midi grid edit field but the sound is not reflecting the visual.

I have a roland fantom and it has to be synced externally to the mpc's midi clock because its tempo cannot be set to numbers such as 86.3, 77.9 etc. Only whole numbers 88,89,90. Also your right about the lfo's. I use midi clock because MTC doesn't adjust the Lfo of a patch to the external tempo of a device, just start, stop, locate.

Its not the keyboard because I've don't a complete restore and adjusted the settings correctly afterwards. I have 2 keyboards and the problem 1st started with my other keyboard.

1waymuzik, if your trying to sync things I'm asuming you have a sample that you are sequencing everything on top of. Have you thought about dropping that WAV into your fantom? I think if you do that, the fantom will adjust either the timing to fit your sample, or the sample to fit your timing. I think I read that even though the fantom cannot be set to specific tempos, it can recognize them. I hope I'm reading this right. If so, I know you can get this done...

I can dig that but that method defeats the whole purpose of owning an MPC. I would like to do my sequencing in the MPC and if for some reason its not functioning properly then Im going to address that issue. I don't want to work around it I just want it to work correctly but believe me I appreciate your suggestion.

I hear ya, and your right. I deffinately want this to work also. I have a fantom and I mainly use that. The Mp is my portable, and I'm really getting a new way of working. In the future I can see needing this to work. At least you have a way that you can make it work in the mean time... Good luck, and don't hurt anyone...

When I first got my MPC and I was having issues with the akai os I said what the hell. I didnt trust jj enough to download this mysterious program onto my MPC. what if it messes it up but sh*t it was already messed up. Im at that point again so I downloaded the os2 and Its Im experiencing the same issue there as well. Theres something wrong with the midi clock on my machine. when I toggle between the the midi clock being on or off its like night and day. Ive kinda accepted that my mpc is on life support and may never wake up again! Lol! Hey I got it as soon as they came out and only paid $550 for it. Ive made plenty of music with it and I guess Ive gotten my money's worth. (Yeah right!) I need new pads and some new buttons anyway so maybe I'll just upgrade to the black 1000 or the 2500! I would just hate to sell my unit and get a new one and it does the same exact thing. Either this bug is only created with the MPC1000 and the roland fantom or Its just my machine buggin out because my keyboard(s) are fine and its happening on both of them.

ok, to humour my lack of brains (i've not been following this closely) could you tell me why you are needing to sync the mpc and fantom? if you are sequencing the fantom from the mpc, there's sure no need to sync, the mpc will play the fantom's notes in time with itself no problem. the only thing is the lfo which you mention, is that the only reason you need the two machines to sync? if so, i'd be inclined to forget about the synced lfo, or else adjust my tempo on the mpc to a whole number and do the same on the fantom.

thanks.

The Download Link to the archived OS-Files works. I just tested it. After downloading, you need to extract the archive first (using 7zip or winrar or similar), then put the os version you want to use on your mpc and perform the upgrade - or in this case - downgrade procedure.

PEACE and much luck

I need to sync my fantom to the MPC's midi clock because the fantoms tempo can only be set to whole numbers like 86,87,88. When I tune my samples sometimes the fall on a tempo of say 87.3 the only way to play a patch that's tempo dependent is through midi clock and the tempo automaticly adjust with the mpc.

ok thanks for clearing that up for me. i'd be inclined, as i said before, to timestretch the sample to keep it in tune, and change the sequence's tempo to a whole number. i know it's a work around, and that it should work the way you want it to, but for the time being you could do it that way.

have you tried asking on a fantom forum (a forum for fantom owners, not a ghost forum!) about this issue? it seems to me that if it doesn't work on the akai os either, it's either a bug in the akai os and the jjos OR it's an issue with the fantom.

I spoke to this cat at the guitar center and he said I should test out another mpc with my set-up. My box has a 2000xl and the midi settings are similar so Im going to try that next. If its not ebay w/Paypal I really don't trust it. (Nothing against u guys) Lol!
I still have faith that I can fix it so maybe in a week or so I'll look into posting it up. Aside from a few loose buttons, Pads and some scratches it still does its thing. Oh yeah and that glitch!

When syncing to or from any other device (including DAW) by midi
you need to
create a couple of bars blank space at the beginning of your song/sequence for it all to sync up properly.
that might help??

ps. i personally don't think there's anything wrong wit ur machine or os but i may be wrong...
try being more thorough explaining ur problem instead of talkin 2 much rubbish, and you might find a solution faster.......

Are you sequencing everything in the same program (midis, samples etc.)? If yes, then there might be your problem and if your program is set to play notes in "mono" instead of "poly". This means that when new note begins the old one is cut out (ie. one note gets played at a time).

Try this: select a new track in your sequence, turn the program off, record your midi notes, see if it occurs again...

ps. Sorry if this wasn't helpful, had a hard time getting a grasp of the case here... :P
