Per-pad quantizing --

on the ASR-10 you have the ability to set a quantize value per key (i.e. you can quantize only your kick or only your high-hat even when multiple keys/drums are on the same track)

this would be a nice feature for OS2

you can do this anyway, but only after recording. So if you play with quantize off you can tighten up just the pads you want to. Its in t.c. screen, pres yer pads like you would in seq edit.

Unless of course you mean choose certain sounds before recording to be recorded on snap values whilst ignoring the rest.I could see how that'd be handy.

no I meant after recording, that's how it works on the ASR -- this is really there? I looked before I posted and didn't seem to see it but maybe it was so obvious that I overlooked it

you've probably found it by now, but heres some pics anyway. On Drum tracks you hit the pads, on midi tracks you can select a range by putting the cursor on the note numbers.

A working sustain pedal function please. Please please.

With all JJ versions (including OS2) and the Akai version it is not possible to play a sound -> pedal down -> release the keys -> sound still on -> pedal up -> sound sustains. Instead, the sound will just continue to play once you release the pedal.

Sustain pedal support is a very basic feature of any sound module and I was shocked when I got the reply from Akai support that the MPC cannot do this because it does not have an ADSR envelope. OK, it is mainly a drum sampler, but it is not restricted to drum sounds, right?

OS2 does have ADSR but the damn pedal does still not work

Hi

A setting to trigger the next sequence via one of the footswitch connectors would make the mpc perfect for me! Does anyone know if this feature exists?

1> LFO and q-link !!

dudes... LFO frequency controlled in realtime , and LFO depth controlled in realtime. lots of us want more control over our basslines...anybody here into dubstep realizes what a waste of potential that magnificent re-triggered, clock-synched, triangle-wave LFO is, without any realtime control over the freq and depth..

2> drum to inst program conversion.

lots of us have spent hours making chromtic drum pgms for playin instruments, and there is nothing but hours of useless knob-twiddling left if we want to take advantage of OS2's track pgm goodies...how about a 'convert to inst' function? if the program is chromatic, and set to 'note on'; jj2 would discard irrelevent envelope and other non-compatible OS1/AkaiOS parameters, and create an 'inst' program with identical sample-to-pad/keygroup assignments . it would really save a million hours of redundant knob-spinning....

Have allready said this some time before, but once again.

If possible please add a track mute color inverse option. So unlogical for an heavy 2000
and 1000 akai os user. Even old JJ os had the old colors. I really have to think everytime I want
to mute or unmute a track. I would not use the JJ os live for this reason because I will make
mistakes. I still use the 2000 at home.

In the load screen be able to select the type of files you want to see.
This option was always in the akai os. So samples, songs or programs.

A higher PPQ for making it a perfect midi sequencer, so that fast keys playing on my midi keyboard still sound the same after recording.

midi control over mixer. ie. panning, fx sends. maybe even allow midi control over all the note on messages the q link sliders are able to control to allow us more creative freedom for live use!!

thanks

1> would def. put that to use, more modulation is always good. I miss vel->pitch btw.

2> until there are velocity layers i still see no advantage at all for the inst programs...
