Effects on Tracks

You can assign effects, on the MPC 1000, to the pads. However, if you record midi performance data to a “track” can you assign effects to that track. My basic question is, can you assign effects to tracks and not just pads. The manual doesn’t make it clear.

No, you got it right first time, kinda. The effects are global to the MPC, like the FX on small mixers, they are shared using FX "buses". Even at the Pad level, the only control you have is FX 1/2 select and send levels.
