Anyone have a 5000 yet??

I was also calling my local dealer and he told me that they are expecting the first of them in on 04/28/08! yeah.

I wasn't gonna buy the MPC5000, but looking at it more and more, I might have to cop it. Hey, I've got every other MPC except for the 5 hundred.

MPCs depreciate in value so they are not great investments

I checked with two companines I placed MPC 5000 orders with. One gave me a late May date and the other gave me an early May date. I am still hoping that I can get one before leaving for Asia in a few weeks.

While I wait for the MPC 5000, I am getting my "fix" by purchasing GigaStudio 3 (and upgrade to 4 when it is in stock) and building a PC strictly for it...

I preordered my MPC5000 back in febuary when the release was for 03/26/08. Then it changed to 04/28/08, then it recently changed to 05/05/08. So I decided to call sweetwater.com and they told me there release date was for 05/09/08, and then I call musiciansfriend.com and they told me there release date was for 05/05/08.

I got tired of the different dates every other week so I call Akai and spoke with the sales department and they told me they receive a update every monday on new release dates for there new products. So today the lady I spoke with said as of today the dates shown on musiciansfriend.com web site is a firm date and that musiciansfriend.com should receive there first shippment 05/05/08.

So from here I pray they are on there way for all of those who have order one and all those who are waiting on those who have ordered one to give them heads up on the new flag ship of all MPC's. After the long wait I pray it hold up to it's name and start a new legacy for the MPC generation.

I mailed akai sales

The Europe sales director answered me that the mpc 5000 should arrive in EUROPE early may & should be available on most stores not later than 2 weeks after.

Mine is preordered i hope they ll respect the delay

may 5th it is then.

MF changed the date to late May.

I had a chance to get one today at the guitar center.
they had 3 of them in stock and sold the last one before
I got there to pick it up... oh well

According to my dealer the first 200 have been allocated to the US, and the rest of us will still have to wait til the end of this month and MAYBE we'll get lucky.

Daymn. Why is it so hard to be on schedule...? If my dealer (also a good friend) hadn't tried so hard to persuade me to stick to the 5k, I should've been playing with an MV8800 LONG TIME AGO!!!

Got mines today at the Guitar Center in Brooklyn. It's going be weird boxing up my 2000xl which served me so well over the last decade.

we just got two of em in at my store (gc northridge)

akai has posted a firmware update already OS 1.01
i wonder if it is a bug fix or have they already added some new features.
