im new, dont have an MPC at all

im looking at the MPK-49 though i make beats already but sampling is a toughie

i use voyetra record producer, i have a keyboard but no midi cord so i cant put a bass track in their im stuck with sampling drums and sampling songs.

what do you think and what should i do???

I didn't want to start a totally new thread - and since the title of this thread pertains to me as well - I thought it might be ok to ask a question here.

I do not have an MPC. I want one. If I am lucky, then maybe the MPC5000 when it comes out. We'll see.

- First - I would like to know something about the Chopping feature of the MPC. Do the "chops" happen via each transient, or does it happen for a designated note value? (i.e., every 16th note or 1/4 note, etc).

- Second - I have read somewhere that there isn't much difference between the MPC1000 & the MPC2500. I assume that the JJ-OSX has something to do with that. My question to you fine folks is: is that an accurate statement? Are there enough features that justify the price difference between the two units?

The differences are mainly in hardware features. If you think you need those, like more MIDI outs, more Q-Links, tilt screen and decent pads that don't break after half a year, then yes it is worth the extra money.

Chopping feature on 1000 is with JJOS and is not on a grid. You can chop up to 64 slices, and adjust the start/end times of each.
