Hi guys,

I have been experiencing some weird problems when I sync my MPC to my Motif. I hook up both MIDI cables (IN/OUT) and I use the motif as a master for the MPC. If I have both MIDI cables hooked up at the same time the sounds from my motif get this echoy effect on them. It's almost as if the tracks are doubling up over themselves. Is there a setting that I am missing?

On to my next issue. I have asked this in a previous post but I still having the same problems. When I record my melodies on the motif they seem to trigger the drum samples I have on my MPC. It is really frustrating because when I tried to record it picks up drum sounds that I did not program into my sequence. Someone told me to turn program off but when I do that my drums stopped working. Is there something I am missing?

ok im going to take a stab at this.
1st Question: you have to go into your MIDI settings on your MPC and set the
Active track Recieve channel
to ALL and your soft thru to off. Hit us back if that doesnt help.

2nd Question: you have to do your stuff on different tracks. use tracks 1-3 for your MPC loaded samples and the rest of the tracks for your Motif MIDI channels. and for your MIDI channels make sure you turn off the program, but leave it on for your MPC based tracks.

Is your Motif the keyboard model? If so, try the MIDI Local Off setting.
When you hit a key, the MIDI command is going
a) direct to the sound engine,
b) to MIDI OUT, to the MPC, the soft Thru is sending it back to the Motif MIDI IN, to the sound engine
so you get two notes at once.

If you set local off, and MPC MIDI Thru to "As Track", the MPC1000 will control what goes where according to the Track settings. This is what I do to play MPC samples, or K5000S synth, or both, the MPC is routing the MIDI to its MIDI Outs -> synth, and/or its sample engine.
