Well, the only Hip-Hop I listen to is on the Radio, MTV and FUSE and I've never heard of Jadakiss plus I thought Loyd Banks was a part of G-Unit - as far as Hip-Hop is concerned I'm as commercial as they come - so calling either one of them commercial?

Commercial in my mind is R Kelly, Ja Rule and P Diddy

never heard of Jadakiss and I own the G-Unit CD (promo from work) and that's not commercial - maybe a single or two but the albums pretty gangster

He's not nice b/c he got shot! he's nice b/c of his lyrical ability. Who mentioned him being the savior of the west? Not I....

My best of west list
Game
Rass Kass
Crooked I
Pre-Dre Xhibit
Snoop

Hot NEW artists:
JR Writer, Gravy, Ali Vegas (coming back), Game,

ohh and i too enjoy throwback early 90s Master P (ice cream man, i got the hook up, ghetto dope...)

Up-and-coming rappers BECOME nice through experience, winning, losing, hating it, loving it, LEARNING...dude got shot, listened to some albums and decided to rap. His motives are all wrong, TO ME, and his "skill" is a borrowed mishmash of some of best LPs. On top of that, what is he really bringing to the table, I mean, REALLY bringing to the table? A new style? Perspective? Content? Still waiting...

Dre and 50 are marketing geniuses, that's the only way anyone's even buying into this cat while real lyricists like Crooked I, Ras Kass, Hiero, the Liks, and numerous others clearly worked their a***s off to get to the level of skill they're at.

I'll give the Lame one piece of credit, though...he did make his motives clear, but that doesn't excuse the fact that dude has not WORKED as hard any of us in here.

These are all facts, so I'm not salty, just a little annoyed at what cats buy into so quickly. I just won't support him and wait for Crooked I and Rass to re-build the West from sacrifices they're making now and have made.

Where do you live - your description to the left says Maryland...just curious because it's funny when people think they have an idea of what's really going on in one part of the world when they live in another - know what I mean?

Dude, be easy. I'm just talking about music. I'm not making any claims that I know anyone personally. This is about music. I never said or claimed to know every single thing going on, just what I've been able to follow concerning the careers of some select artists. So I'm not allowed to support cats cuz of where I'm from? If that's the case...

I wasn't being trying to be like that - my apologies - it's cool

I just noticed when I go to LA from time to time people down there are really feeling the cats that are huge down there, like Dr Dre, 50 Cent etc

I mean even up here - I personally can't stand Sir Mix Alot but people LOVE him - but what's really going to save seattle is some underground sh** that I can't remember the name of - it's not Funk Daddy! These guys who always hang out at Ezells Fried Chicken - they're good

So it's like when you say something like "so and so is going to save the west..." people out west aren't even thinking about those guys

but it doesn't hurt to have a view from a far because you can see things people who are in the thick of it can't -

it's cool

Well, that's pretty much the best way to think of it... that those cats are the guys we're checking for here :)

Just like over here, we're just about sick of 50, for real, lol...but when Soopafly let some things leak out, we went crazy, no lie, especially that diss for Kurupt!

djadonis: g unit is very commercial. its not bad but they just rap about stupid stuff. it might be gangster but all that 50 ever talks about is how " 9 shots wasnt enough". he doesnt even rap he talks. i dont really care about that though just thought id get in my 2 cents.

some real quality "underground" hip hop is: non phixion, jedi mind tricks,q-unique, weathermen, skitzofrenziks, reks, the demigodz, army of the pharoahs and maybe necro

just lettin you all know whats up here

Speaking of the West... I think the best stuff out the west is Snoop, Planet Asia, Cypress Hill, and early NWA. Early Xzibit was real dope, and I was really feeling Alkaholiks and Funkdoobiest. House of Pain had a couple good albums, but fell off into obscurity.

The Game is fire in my opinion. Kurupt was one of the baddest dudes back in the day, I'm hopin he comes back with some heat.
