@feline: don't forget we're discussing the pad sensors, and the 4000 has two "voids" inside... plenty of ways for grime to get into the top controls layer, but this is still not inside the logic case.

Thanks for the info on dud pads much appreciated.. strangley enough my 4000's pads first stopped working with the one on the top right dying first, then the one left of it, and then everyone below the top right stopped working one after the other..
- you got any info on the mpc turning on but just sitting with a blank screen?
t is very hard to get the very very soft ribbon into his place. must i re-glue the piece of plastic to the flat cable before puttin in back in the shit?
