Dead pads on 4000?

Well how did a load of dust get inside a sealed metal case where the only real hole is an EXHAUST fan blowing air out...?

@feline: don't forget we're discussing the pad sensors, and the 4000 has two "voids" inside... plenty of ways for grime to get into the top controls layer, but this is still not inside the logic case.

It may say Expert Member next to feline but just cause you post a million sarcastic no help whatsover posts don't make you an expert member :- Don't believe everything you read..

Thanks for the info on dud pads much appreciated.. strangley enough my 4000's pads first stopped working with the one on the top right dying first, then the one left of it, and then everyone below the top right stopped working one after the other..

- you got any info on the mpc turning on but just sitting with a blank screen?

t is very hard to get the very very soft ribbon into his place. must i re-glue the piece of plastic to the flat cable before puttin in back in the shit?

done.
no added gglue, just carefully putted in.
now: new sensor, new rubbers....

I’m having the same problem with the new ribbon I bought for the mpc4000. It’s not staying in place.

Furthermore, the new one isnt the exact carbon of the old one.

Any info on parts? Or how to rectify this problem?
