MPC 2000 XL won't turn on!

Hi,

I got my MPC 2000 XL today. Since I live in Sweden I also bought a step down transformer, since we have 220V here in Sweden. Even though I've hooked it up to the step down, it still won't turn on. Does anyone know what might be wrong?

EDIT: On the step-down thing, it says "INPUT: 230V - 50Hz"
"OUTPUT: AC 110V 100 W". I checked the backside of the MPC, and it says " AC 120V , 60Hz , 23W". Could the problem be that the step down is too weak?

A step down transformer? For what? The XL can take 220V.

are you sure? There's an A by the AC input, I thought that meant it could only take 110V. Is your MPC hooked into 220V? THanks

Look at the back where the plug goes. It should say "AC100 - 240V" meaning you can plug anything from 100-240V in there. Mine runs at the local 230V. I have no idea what "A" you are talking about...

Power Supply went out I bet.

It only says AC 120 V. The A I am referring to is this one : viewtopic.php?f=4&t=94017&p=847191&hilit=110v#p847191

Get a new one from Forat or VST Service. If you have tried to troubleshooting everything else then it's possibly the PS.

Crap. How is that possible? I didn't even turn it on once. Would this work (assuming I get a new power supply)

Isn't it possible that it's just my step down transformer that's crappy? The maximum Hz allowed on my Step down is 50Hz, and the MPC is 60. The output of it is 110V, and the MPC needs 120. I mean that has to be it, there's no way that the PS is busted when I haven't even turned it on once.

That's why I said go through the whole troubleshooting process before you get a PS.

Sorry. By going through the "whole troubleshooting process", you mean trying a new step-down? Or is there any other troubleshooting I should do?

A Stepdown converter would be the first thing I would look into.

Ok....then I just wonder where you got it from...

The voltage of the transformer can definitely be an issue. And I don't know if it will work at all if you don't transform the 50Hz to 60Hz also.

I bought it from a guy who lives in.. I think it was Miami or something. I just ordered a transformer from eBay that can convert up to 60Hz, I'll pray to god that it'll work lol. I don't know what I'll do if it doesn't, do I have to send it back to the states?
