MPC 2000 XL won't turn on!

Look at the back where the plug goes. It should say "AC100 - 240V" meaning you can plug anything from 100-240V in there. Mine runs at the local 230V. I have no idea what "A" you are talking about...

Go down to your local electronics store and by a small voltage meter and check to see if any current is passing through the transformer.

have you tried another IEC cable (power lead) these days they are so cheaply produced and come included with alot of chinese junk, it is easy for them to find there way into your cable stash. i have just thrown out 3 that didnt work or were starting to split/get un-safe.

Anyway...I don't know why you would buy a 2000XL in the US and have it shipped over here, there are plenty to get in Europe as well.

Yeah I don't know.. It was way cheaper in the US and I'm on a tight budget.

I haven't, but the problem is that the cable is an american. I do have a European IEC cable, but if I connect that to the mpc and then hook it into the wall the power wont be stepped down. What would happen If I just connect it without a step down? I'm just hopin' that I'll get that step down I ordered from eBay and that it will work. If it doesn't, then who knows what I'll do. Can you change the power supply yourself? I really don't feel like sending it away again.

Did you check the fuse on the inside of the unit? there is a a fuse in the unit.
maybe dude sent you a bad MPC. I thought all the 2000Xl's where dual voltage.
I bought mine and used it when I was in Cali (120VAC) and now I am using it over here in England with no problems or transformer (220VAC).
It's the older grey 2000XL and it has a sticker also that says 120VAC only.

Hmm, that's weird. So the sticker on the back of your XL says 120V only, but there is a fuse inside that says otherwise? I'm not going to hook it into the wall without a transformer before I've tried using one lol

Obviously not necessarily...but I would never risk that.

Just wanted to let y'all know that I got my new step down transformer and my MPC finally powered up. Thanks for the help everybody

Marvel i'm not sure if this helps at all, but here is a story for you..

I ordered my mpc2000xl from the states to here (australia)

I did my research and thought that it should take both 120v 60hz and 220v 50hz or whatever the nubers are.
Then when i crack that box open, the back of the mpc says 120v 60hz. So i'm thinking "sh!t i'll hafta get a step down transformer!)
So i run out and buy one, and the mpc runs fine.
Then on closer inspection, it is just a sticker on the back, which i peel off, and underneath...



This is the oldschool beige one!! So its not just the SE3s with the universal supply

so it must have just been a sticker from a previous service it had had over in the US.

I am nearly 100% certain that this is the same spec for all mpc2000xl so have you checked yours isnt the same hiding under a sticker?
