Introduction

yesterday, my girlfriend left for a month-long trip back to the states to see her family. first thing i did was order an mpc1000 from armen in new york and tell work i won't be in till june.

i bought one because all my friends have them, i think they bought theirs because detroit house producers moodymann and theo parrish use mpcs, or something like that.

my studio set up:

i've already read the manuals (both the jj and akai), but no doubt will still be asking stupid questions.

i trust peer-group pressure, it's been good to me. it got me into drugs and sex and disco dancing.

i'm in rushcutters bay, one of the hilly areas (i was on your myspace page). nice tunes. were you at audio school in surry hills?

i've ordered my ram and flash upgrades and even loaded up a couple of kits in pad 187. now that's a helpful program.

i avoided surry hills when possible! too many of those 'daddy pays' emo fringe, horizontal stripes,
stove pipe levi's, art student, knob ends. love the hopetoun though...

i lived in the northern suburbs (unfortunately) and studied out at maquarie...

good idea to get the RAM crackin -- definitely get an HD if you can. I got a second
hand 20gig one off ebay pretty cheap... works fine, and i can fit loads on there.

187 is pretty sweet... i don't use it much anymore, unless i'm making multi-sample
programs... and JJOS2 is apparently much better at that anyway.

definitely check that JJ biz when you get your MPC. it's totally f*ckin unbelievable...

where'd you buy your MPC from? is it new?
