using moif es rack module with mpc 2500

I recently got an mpc 2500 and am loving it for sampling and drums... it's definately off the hook and the sound quality is off the hook. But i am having a slight issue while using my motif es sound module. When i use a sound on a sequence it goes in wonderfully but then when i try to layer another sound in the background it changes the first sequences sound 2. I see people all the time online using more than one sound from their module while recording their sequence but i just can't figure out how to make this happen. Hopefully someone can shed some light on the issue for me. It just doesn't add up.. thank you

look in the motif manual for "multimode" or something like that - some manufacturers use differen terms...
motif should be 16part multitimbral...
and use different midi channels...

I have the ES6, Does the ES Rack have a seq mode if so make sure that you are in seq mode, and when you switch tracks on your MPC make sure that you switch the track on your motif as well, I might Post a vid on youtube in the next day or so, If I do I will let you know.

The Motif rack does not have a sequencer. And I know exactly you problem because I had a hard time figuring it out too but, I am not good at explaining this issue. maybe I will make a video for you showing how to do it.

good looking tax man, if you end up making a video let me know. I kind of figured it out but i need to figure out how to assign the channels to different sounds. It changes randomly...

I use the MPC2500 with a MOTIF ES rack.
Please describe in more detail what you are trying to do. Do you use any other software to create your sequences?

when u got midi track,example type:midi and midi:1A,if u want play another sound of the motif,u must select midi:2a in another midi track,and now the 2 different sound of the motif play in same time.

ps:u must select "multi" in motif, not voice.

If you have a multi track sequenced MIDI file - say 5 tracks - each of the tracks must go to a different output eg MIDI1A,MIDI2A - up to MIDI 16A.
You need DRUM changed to MIDI and output to No:
Press the window button and make sure program change is set to on. You might need bank change as well.
Check that you have the voice command in each file by pressing MODE then step sequence. Near the start of your track you should see the voice change.
If you press MULTI so it goes red and play your sequence the ES will show you which voices it is using.
You can change these on the ES and store them as a USR file if you wish.
