have a noobish question here. got tired of using the audio tracks on my mpc. i want to hook up my micron and evolver to the mpc so i can doodle with midis instead. question is iam sure i saw a pgm file to the mpc making the pads trigger in keyboard order. i did a search but couldnt find it. or is this something i can do by just using autochraomatic? i use jj os 4.83 i think.dont try to persuade me to the 2.00 i dont neead adsr and stuff. any tips on how to hookup this would also be great. im looking for flexibility i also have a bcr2000 but i think imight need to cut it out of the equation. cheers

enter GPE, move to the note numbers, hit window, and assign 35-98
i REALLY wish there was a way to by default, for now and ever, make that the standard order
instead of general midi.
lord, general midi - it tries my patience.

yeah, i hate general midi. can you ask jj to change the default on os1 and os2?
i can't see it taking up any code space. so maybe it's possible.

see, i totally agree
i make as few "requests" as possible, it's busy enough as is.

i will mention that "general midi" as a default should at least be determined by the user, but only when i have a couple bug reports to give too.

just to keep everyone happy though (ie the few that use general midi drum programs) a user should be able to define his own root default midi layout...

the OTHER screen sounds like a good idea as well.

or maybe just in the create a new program screen would probably make more sense

but it should be a selectable YES/NO option for 'Default to GM' or something and the setting is saved until you change it again

yeah it would be cool if GM was still an option...

i agree it's pretty much irrelevant for most of what folks here are using their MPC's for...

but i just met a guy with an electronic drum kit and i want to use the 1000 as a brain for it...

and without a GM map --- who has any idea where the kick will appear!!

honestly though... what's the deal with the GM layout?
it makes pretty much NO SENSE!!

I was just thinking the same thing! Wish there was a default selection for this so u can choose! This would come in handy when using daws. I keep forgetting that when i load up to change over for daw purposes.
