metronome output where??

Hi all

I use the MPC 4000 for performing live.
For that use I need to have the metronome on all the time.
The audience should NOT hear it, though!

What can I do?

It seems like the phones output is just a main volume output.

Is there really not any way of doing this?

(And no, I can't afford the extra 8 outs)

yo pixel!

i see 3 ways and all are kinda shity ones:

1. max. level to the metronome and reduce level of multi, prog, part, (whatever works best!), and correct the low value at your mixer! ... connect headphones at the phones output and good luck is all i can wish u!

2. split your main out (L + R)! L for your music, R for the tick! - ... now actually this is a horrible one - let me call it nonadvice!

3. **** the tick and rock without it imo thats the best one ... and try to get some monitors on stage!

I don't think I understand exactly what you're saying...
If I understand you right, I can use the headphones as click without it affects the main out?

That would be perfect... But sounds too good to be true!

For One:

the only 2 real options are gunna cost you, either another sequencer/metronome midi'ed up and take the audio from that as your metronome, otherwise buy the 8 outs and you can have a dedicated metro on a single track..
You playing with a live drummer????? I've been hanging to try this but haven't had a chance yet.

Yeah but the extra 8 outs are immensely expensive!
I guess I should buy a HW sequencer then... :-(

I play the rhythms myself using the pads... That's all.. But I really need to have a metronome, also because of the missing undo seq in play mode.

the 8outs are worth it ,i makes your life so much eaiser all round,live and mixing etc,,,,,there are some cheap deals.

hahahahaha I rekon I could pick up a secondhand korg em-1 from us ebay cheaper than what the 8-outs would cost me here in aus!!!

yo, I got da same combo, 4K + Deeps, killa!
I got the adat out in mine 4K connected to the lightpipe in of the deeps, and the SPDIF too so I get 10 outs digital. I go wordclock out of the deeps to da 4K to lock'em together and Midi in/out between the 2, with the deeps mtc master and mmc slave.

Yamaha makes a metronome with a MIDI input on it. It immediately synchs with whatever source it's plugged into and has a grip of options.

That's what I use, and it's great. Pretty cheap, too.
