cf cards and autoload

hey so i just picked up a 2gb kingston cf card and it seems to work fine. It is actually slower when it comes to connecting to the computer, i dunno why. But, when i finish addin stuff onto my tracks and sequences, i save to the autoload folder and i replace it. Then when i turn my mpc back on (the autoload feature is ON) nothing shows up. Its like saving the entire memory project deletes everything in the autoload folder, and i dunno why. Maybe it has something to do with my computer or car, cas it works fine on the factory 128 card

I bought the a 2GB card the other day and it also takes a little while longer to connect to my computer, so my guess (now that you've also said it) is that it's normal for this to happen!

I'm not quite sure I understand with your comment about autoload feature.

It's quite normal.

yeah i wasn't so concerned with the delay, i know its normal. i dunno i might have mixed some folders up, but i have autoload on, and theres a folder called autoload in the root directory of the card, and i save everything into autoload. after everythings saved, ill hook my mpc up to my mac. when i open up the card and open the autoload folder, theres nothing in there, and nothing loads up next time i turn on my 500

Well, I hope it is not a bug or something. I came across the similar thing some time ago, but it was with my friend's MPC 1000. We worked on a backing tracks for a live gig and put some really large audio samples in there, arranged them into the right sequence and so on.. Then we saved it all to 2Gb Transcend CF card using the project saving feature and selecting "Autoload" as a destination for the project files. After the work was done, MPC was switched off. But our project wasn't there when we decided to add some more features to our gig-project. And, guess what, after searching for some time in the card's directory, we found our "Autoload" folder enclosed in other "Autoload" folder which was inside another folder. I mean, sometimes you can just accidentally choose the wrong place for the Autoload folder to be put into. After that if I am working on a project that is important, I just make sure it is all saved and then back it all up on my laptop's HD.

yeah i just backed up my original autoload folder onto my laptop. its all good
