Hey everyone I just got my mpc 1000. It came with the mpc, the flash card, and the power cable. I have a macbookpro and I just want to know how to get started. I want to take samples from my mac onto the mpc how do i do that? do i need a usb cable? also do i need speakers? cuz i know theres preloaded samples internal but i cant hear any of them? im a beginner and im kinda lost. thanx any help is welcome

you should start with reading the manual and learning the basic functions (loading, saving, midi channels, sequence mode -vs- song mode) of the machine.

i would not try to intergate the mpc with the mac until "you" get the basic functions down to a science. basically, confusion equal frustation.

take one step (baby steps) at a time and your experience with the mpc will be more gratifiing.

The previous advice is dead on.

Just to give you a jumpstart....... In order o get the samples off of your mac you can either save them as wave files and then transfer them to the MPC and get to work on them that way.... Or you can connect a headphone to rca adapter to the headphone jack of the mac and then get some 1/4 jack adapters and plug it into the back of the MPC (Rec In)... And follow the instructions in the manual on how to record a sample/song/sound..... I hope this helps.....

Have you tried just putting your ear really close to the mpc? Save you having to buy monitors or headphones...
