Several things
1. Make sure you are using a drum program the tracks in the main page are just for recording midi data and assigning midi channels.
2. With a drum program it is simple to assign output for the audio. Either select the track the program is on, next go to the mixer page and select the program, then press the pad page in the mixer page, finallay hit the pad and turn the cursor to change the ML to the select output you want.
Or you can go to Program page, select the program, select program zone page and then change the zone output for the sample.
As for as recording the 8 outputs have no preamps like the L/R output does. You have to check your setup going into Cubuse what kind of soundcards or preamps to you have available? I use the built in preamps in my Digi 002 giving me 4. And I changed from using my 8 outs to just the L/R so I can get a more amplified signal coming out of my 4k going into the setup into Logic recording at 0.5 dBs. I usually get as loud and clear of a recording as I can get also making sure to bring down the main fader to prevent summing and distortion. I have a home studio lacking in the proper preamps or a Pro level Mixing board so I don`t use the 8 outs like I did before. I had to get more understanding of the recording process from watching pro engineers. If honestly I record in a pro studio or I had the money for 8 decent preamps or a Home Project SSL or the Mackie 8 Bus Digital Mixer both well over 5 to 8 grand I would continue to use the 8 outs on my 4k. At best I have to use what I have to get the best recording.
