Hello,
is there a way to eliminate the click when I cut a sample and loop it?
Sometmes i have a drone and would just loop a short part of it, but I never got it to
loop with that annoying click. Did I miss something in the manual?

THe Midi question is: Can I enable real passthough for my synth when using an Programm with samples.
When I now press a key on my Keyboard and on that note the mpc has a sample it plas that sample and my synth. I created a programm for my synth only, but sometims i like to play keybaord and play some samples in a live manner.

I am using jjos 4.x

thx a lot

play with loop start/stop points until the click is gone.
i struggle with this as well, and would LOVE some sort of "sample crossfade" option in LOOP mode.

as for the midi question i needd a more specific example of what you're trying to do exactly...q

Maybe setting it to alternate loop helps.

You want to play your pads and your keys at the same time? I dont think its possible, you cant play on 2 tracks at the same time and theres no setting like "midi input to internal sound: off" which would do this to.
Though its not as useful you could do it the other way round, send out the pads, (midi channel selected on the track), and play the samples on the mpc from your keyboard (soft through off, pad to internal sound off)

altloop has its own click issues as well.

a simple crossfade...even a TINY couple milliseconds of crossfade would eliminate SO much of my issues, and would boost the machine's sampling capability dramatically...especially with those INST pgms! lordy.

i don't know if this is what he wants, but i play my pads and keys at the same time - my inst pgms are basically just chromatic programs anyway, so i'll take say an accordian inst pgm on my mpc and output the same midi notes to X midi channel, received by reason or vst, and control both MPC and Reason simultaneously from my midi keyboard.

i find this a good way to fatten up reason sounds. in particular, i've been able to come up with some wicked bass sounds by layering reason/mpc sounds. which is good because i'd grown tired of the bass sounds i could get from just 1 or the other.

alternative loop indeed has its own click issues

this is something that I constantly struggle with on the MPC, sometimes no amount of trimming and tweaking can completely eliminate the clicks, whereas on some software the same result is near effortless.

I really wish there was a feature to help combat the clicks --- fingers crossed for crossfade loop

that would be nice - it's pretty much impossible it seems to find a true zero crossing point from the trim screen

it may look like you're on one, but I don't think the display is nearly accurate enough to display the wave form true enough. maybe if we could get more zoom that might help as well?

i've found that zero crossfades aren't realistic with stereo samples...unfortunately.

also, pitching your samples seems to screw with your clicks: if you have an altlooped sample which you tune down in PGM, you may have a click.

the only solution i see, at all, is sample loop crossfade

IDEAL: no extra polyphony usage
but i'd take it any way i could!

doubling the polyphony usage is the most realistic way I can think of it ever being implemented - otherwise it would likely have to be a destructive process - but I'd still be perfectly fine with that.

I've never found myself limited by the 128MB of RAM and the sample time it allows for, so polyphony isn't even an issue for me as you could just do your programming utilizing crossfade loop, then re-sample it as one long sample or audio track, and eliminate the extra polyphony usage due to the crossfade loop

you think like a magician.
another alternative would be to only turn crossfade loop on when you track out your beat and just live with the clicks as we do now if you need the polyphony while sequencing. that way, in DAW, you'd have the best "take" of your sample playback track, since when you track it you're playing less sounds anyway and thus have WAY more "virtual" polyphony.

that is also an option -- though even though I have pro tools I still track the stereo outs straight to Audacity :D

This would be the biggest improvement for JJ since Alternate looping in my eyes. Don't get me wrong, I love a lot of the new features. The arpeggio, and velocity editing options are amazing, but this is something I would give up quite a bit for. (Though it really doesn't seem like it would take that much code. I could be very wrong, but I want this.) I would use this constantly...
