Which MPC does this better?

Hi guys, I have two questions:

1) I would like to program beats in midi only with the full swing features and shift timing features of the mpc and dump it track per track in a DAW.
ex: one midi track for kick, another for snare and etc...

2) I'd like to sample my one shots samples(drums only) to the mpc and then dump it back in my computer after the mpc low end punchier sound added to the one shot sample and eventually trigger those sounds with the midi already dumped before,question 1, inside a DAW.

Is the 500 good enough for this? Is it has the same sound quality of the 1k and 2,5k?

yes the 500 is fine for what u need but u can forget about the "mpc low end punch" myth.

but if u wanna track individual drum samples then get either the 1000 or 2500.

Why even bother shelling out that much money for that...

why spend the money on an mpc? for what you are trying to do, i would buy fl studio and a pad controller. as far as the mpc low end punchier sound, respect said it best. what you put into the mpc is what comes out. if you want punch, learn to mix and choose the right samples.

I understand that, but once you work with the mpc and quantize /shift options, it is unique...
better than moving notes with the mouse....

Cosign. A single use camera will give you a picture, but an SLR is much funner to use!

i have been working with an mpc for a few years now. im not real sure what quantize and shift functions have you so jazzed. if you are talking about the swing settings, i personally hate the mpc 1000 swing. it sounds like a gallop. i think you are referring to the classic mp when speaking of the swing features. and i am not familiar with those. only the 1k.

for swing though, instead of relying on the machines swing, why not turn off the quantization all together and play the notes yourself. there is nothing better than that natural human swing. i hardly ever use quantization myself.

actually, shifting notes in an mpc, to me anyways, is more tedious than using a mouse. even with the jjos grid edit, there are more steps involved. i still do it, but thats because the mpc is my primary tool.

im not trying to discourage you from getting an mp, but its a lot of money for what you are trying to accomplish.
