logic stuidio sample editor to make chops like soundforge?

i was messing around with the sample editor in logic a few days ago and i was trying to get it to chop audio (like soundforge does) so i could highlight a section and make it a region, then click behind it, like i would in soundforge and it would highlight the rest of the track besides that region so i could make another chop somewhere in it.

i was using logic studio, and i was trying to do this but it wasnt letting me make more than one region, i would go to the menus and say make seperate region or something like that, but if i did that again in another place, it would just delete my region before hand and i couldent make chops with it.

does anyone know if you can make those kind of chops with the sample editor in logic studio? or any version of logic for that matter? any help would be greatly appreciated, becuase i am holding on to my pc for one reason only and thats because i have soundforge on it and i chop everything inside soundforge before i put it into my 500, then i use logic as the sequencer.

i was following along with the manual when i was using the sample editor, but it still wasnt working for some reason, can logic even do this? i was only using in breifly, but i couldent seem to figure it out.

Just organize your chops in the main arrange window, and then fine tune the start / end point in the sample editor.

do you make all your chops on this dsp?

i was tryin to delete one channel, the right side and double up the left becuase i recorded it weird and it only came in on one side and found that i cant do that with logic, i think im gona cop that program parralells and run soundforge inside of that so i can still use both.

I know sound forge is king for chops, loops and the like, I feel the same but instead of messing with XP on an mac give a try at Bias Peak on OSX... I'm getting used to it's workflow and I like it every time more and more

i tried adacity but didnt like it at all.
