Here the Deal, I have a Ensoniq EPS 16+,MPC 3000 And Akai s950.

I don't have:

1)A Mixer ,Amplifier or Monitor to hear all My Midi Gear (E.G.)
If I sample something to My s950 I CAN'T Here It!!

2) Space to put MPC 3000 EPS 16, s950 side By side! (I have a turntable and Mixer too!) So I had to put My s950 in the closet for now!!

What I need:

1) A Mixer or a Mulitrack recorder with montiors (Alesis M1 if possible??) I don't know which one,Because I need to:

a)Here all my instruments at once when they are in use (e.g: Drum coming
out the s950, bass of the Eps 16, Beat on the MPC 3000)

b) add eq when nesssary

C) Most importantly, Dump my stuff to DAT so i resample it If needed

2) Reasonably Priced Racks and quiklok stand?? or is there an alternative??

3)On the other hand I'd like to laydown Entire Beats AT HOME ,As close to Completion as possible! (Drums, etc).

So PLEASE someone ,Please give me some Help!!!!

You need a mixer and some speakers (or headphones) to hear the output.

Get something with at least 24 channels, unless you are not going to use the multiple outs on the 950 or EPS (you must do this on the MPC, seriously!)

as far as laying them out, think about a U shape, MPC in front of you, maybe the S950 on a stand above the MPC but a little further back so it doesn't cover the MPC ( I have my emax set up this way) EPS on a X frame to your left or right, and your mixer on the other side of you on another X frame.

I have my MPC on a small wooden TV table, with an A Frame behind it with the tiers way up so the MPC fits partly underneath it. Then the three teirs have other shit on them, ie lowest one has the Emax rack sampler and monitors on either side, the second one has a keyboard that I play with a controller, and some effects racks.

That should give you some ideas.

sorry, have a look at desks at office stores, some fit peoples needs really well. then think about x frames an a frames and how you can use them.

A lot of people have the mpc on top of a rack sampler.

So u could put the mp on top of the rack thing u use most, and get some more space.

Don't put it on top of your s950 if it generates heat... if you have your s950 on for half an hour and you touch the top of the machine, is it hot? if it stays cool it shouldn't be a problem but I think the mpc will be covering the ventilation slots on top of it.

s950's get pretty hot. i used to stack 3 of em on each other. you could cook on the lowest one when turned on for a long time...
