The conflict

Hey all

I've been producing for about a year and half now, and in the past 2 months got into sampling. Although it hurts my "all original" roots to beat making..the sound is uncomparable. So for the late i've been using reason and recycle and vinyl records. Its dope but damn is it a tidous process and i reallly dont like the chops on recycle. So come to conclusion that i want a MP

Here lies the problem. I've narrowed my choice down to 3, the 2000xl, 2500 or the 1000. Not gonna lie i love the vintage stuff but am also down with the new. The other day i went to my local store to play around with the 2500 and 1000. After playing around with the 2500 i cant shake the feeling of me cheaping down to get a 1000.

Really i dont think i will sequence with the mp...just for sampling, chopping and jamming. I want to have a line out from my MP to use it with either logic or ableton. So what do you guys suggest...would the 1000 do it...or is the 2500 worth the investment. On the other hand what bout the 2000...sorry for the longone just thought yall would have some background as well...Thanks

Get the 1000 if that's what you're gonna be using it for. The 2500 would be kinda pointless. And the fact that prices on the 2500 have gone down so much in the past 3 or 4 months gives me a bad feeling about it. I guess the fact that all these diferent jj os versions were released to th public made it so that the 2500 lost it's appeal?
Anyways try the 1000 since it,s very computer work-friendly for someone using software as well.

I would have recomended the 200xl but you mentioned you were interested in the 1000 or 2500 so I didn't even take it there. The 2000xl seems to be the middle ground between the vintage MPC's and the newer ones.
I have a 3000 and I love everything about it except the fact that getting repairs done on is too much of a hassle. I also have the 1000 and use that for certain types of projects so it really depends on what you want to do . But the 200xl is going for like $600 nowadays and seems portable enough and pretty easy to use and all.

u can pick up second hand 1000 for as low as 500, where as 2500 will run you twice as much
