Reassign the pads on the mpc500 / like piano start with c

please help me.

How can i reassign the pads.
i want to start like a keyboard with "c".

Go to PROGRAM mode (Mode + Pad 6), select a program you want to edit, then use the jog wheel to find a midi note assign screen and select the note you want for a particular pad. Once you assigned the note for one pad, just hit the next one and you can assign the next midi note. And so on.

You can also find and download software, like MPC Pad 187 (Mac) that allows you to make programs for MPC, including midi note assign feature. If you are on Mac, here is the link:

i've assigned 2 octaves across the pads starting on c1
