I am not trying to convince anyone they should get the MPC 5000. But it will be great from a forum perspective for more MPC 5000 users to join in and share tips/tricks. I can't wait to we start our own feature request threads

Just got my MPC 5000 today. It didn't come with a DVD/CD drive but it did come with a Memory Card slot, I'm guessing this is the CF slot or Flash slot maybe. I haven't cracked open the manual yet to see. I've had this beast since 5pm and I've already made a SICK beat. Seriously one of the illest beats I've created. The synth and q link effects are flat out unbelievable. All the features are great! The sleakness and comfort of the 5000 is off the hook as well. The sound is 10/10. Everything is laid out perfectly and the sound is also crystal. So far the 5000 gets a 9/10. It may hit 10/10 in a week or so ;)

IMHO....GET A 5000 you won't regret it!!!!!!!

Congrats. Make sure you have the latest OS 1.01 installed. As you use your MPC 5000, if you happen to find any reproducable bugs/problems, please report it in my OS 1.01 Bug Thread. I have already wrote about several issues you will probably encounter.

The wait is worth it bro, believe me. Aside from the machine looking sleak and extremely cool, the functions, sounds, pad feel, and on and on are Top Notch!!

Btw, I had a 4000 too and I would choose the 5000 over the 4000 anyday. IMO of course

According to the manual (and or one of the papers that come with it), it's supposed to ship with a CF card. I bought one, but i called my Guitar Center where i bought the mpc, told them what the manual. One of the papers says i believe "the MPC5000 ships with a Compact Flash card" and the mainual states on pg 149 that it ships with factory sounds to get you started. However because of the factory sounds in the Rom Flash inside the mpc, and the loopmasters on the hard drive, im assuming thats what they do to make up for not including the actual card. However what I did was call Guitar Center and say it says there's supposed to be a card included (which technically isn't a lie) and they shipped one out to me for free
